Philips GoGear Spark 2GB MP3 Player
I chose this MP3 player because it was recommended as a good player at a very reasonable price, which it is. The quality of sound is very good and I found it easy to use.
What is disappointing is the very poor quality of the voice recording. I bought it specifically to be able to record live music (I belong to a choir and this facility is invaluable for helping me learn material) but the GoGear Spark distorts badly, as it seems to have no ability to adjust for differing sound levels. I previously had a Cowon iaudio U3, which was a similar price, but the recording quality was excellent.
Other reviewers have mentioned the poor 'case' and belt attachment, and they are absolutely right. There is a rubber 'cover' that protects the back and sides but not the screen at the front, and the belt attachment constantly unhooks itself from the player.
Good product
Like it. The sound is very good to me and the battery is good. Although the lcd is not perfect it is still a nice choice.
Brilliant
Very impressed with this kit. Would have been 5* if they had made a better clip at the back for it. Apart from the flimsy clip its a brilliant bit of kit. The cover is excellent and protects it well. The sounnd is very good. Very easy to transfer music onto and easy to use. The best feature for me is the battery life. I have had mine now for nearly a month and its still on 2 bars from 4. I use it for 45mins everyday on full volume, wipes the floor with my old ipod which needed charging every 2nd day. Pure value for money
No FM radio
Very disappointing that despite the statement at the end of technical details - FM radio recoding:ADPCM, there is no FM radio with this model or with SA2940 & SA2980. Philips say that there is a misprint in their technical details info. which they have told all retailers about. I note that the incorect info. is still on there web page.
A good MP3 player.
A well made and easy to use MP3 player that represents good value for money. The earphones supplied give acceptable quality of sound though for classical music there is room for improvement.
