Brilliant little product.
I have had this product for a good 3 months now and could not be happier with my choice of MP3 player. Obviously, I ignored the elephant in the MP3 market (iPod) to plump for this, but I am a keen hiker and my previous 2 iPods have shattered screens or broken controls after a couple of days of being thrown in and out of my backpack. This sony, however, has stood up to the task remarkably well, escaping drops with minimal damage and no dent to performance. In this, although the materials might be cheaper than the iPod, the build quality is second to none.
On the software side, the FM radio recording is a massive plus, but that aside the software is easy to use and fulfills my requirements, although watching video for longer than 20 minutes is not recommended on the screen, as it is quite small. The button layout gets some getting used to, as I do not like the way the two circular buttons take the navigation wheel's space, however I do normally use it without looking with ease. The hold button and the volume rocker are also nicely placed. Battery life is also firmly within 18 hours after constant use.
Overall, this is a rugged, intuitive and feature filled MP3 player that beats the iPod for value, features and build(in my opinion), however apple still keeps the crown for the best looks.

This, and similar Sony Walkman products are prone to freezing. Once frozen, they can't be operated in any way and no download or internet cure will get them going again. Make sure you buy from a reputable dealer who will exchange or refund without quibble!!
Excellent Product
This was bought as a gift for my teenage son. He was able to use it immediately on Windows Media Player and download all his tunes without any problems. Other reviews have questioned the quality of the sound but my son says that it is excellent. This was not as expensive as an IPOD but still seems to deliver at a good price. I would buy another if I needed to.
Easy to use product
Selected this product because it was larger than others available and this is the first MP3 Player I have had.
This proved to be a nice size for a *Beginner*, and I found it easy to use and set up. Also sound quality is excellent using enclosed headphones. I have not tried the radio function yet.
I found the 'off' button difficult to use though, but am getting the hang of it now.
Also feel that it should be made clear that this walkman is not able to play Audible Books, as I have had to buy another to download them on to.
However, it is nice to have a separate one for Music!!

This is an excellent little product for the money; it is everything I had hoped for; I specifically wanted one with a voice recording function, and this is really good as it picks up sound very well.
I am very happy with my purchase, which arrived a day after ordering with my Prime trial. Thank you Amazon; excellent service as always.
